Shimron Hetmyer endeared himself to the Indian crowd with his six-hitting ability during the West Indies’ limited overs tour of India in 2018. The left-handed batter, who had played for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in TATA IPL 2019, made his way to Delhi Capitals after being bought for INR 7.75 crores ahead of IPL 2020. Bought for a whopping 8.5 crore ahead of the 15th season by Rajasthan Royals, Hetmyer scored 314 runs at an average of 44.86 and SR of 153.92 in a season where RR reached the final. The 2023 season saw him continue his good work as he amassed 299 runs at a healthy average of 37.37 and SR Of 151.77. He is now an integral member of the RR squad and was bought by the franchise for INR 11 Crore ahead of IPL 2025. After a lean phase in the 2025 season, Hetmyer found form and was on song during West Indies’ campaign in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. With his aggressive batting and finishing abilities, Hetmyer will once again be the vital cog for RR and expectations from him will remain high.
